Leak Detection

Finding it matters more than fixing it.

Fixing a leak is straightforward once you know where it is. The expensive part, and the part that goes wrong, is finding it without opening up half the house looking.

How We Find It

Locating the leak before opening anything.

Detection methods we use

  • ✓ Acoustic listening equipment for pressurised lines
  • ✓ Pressure testing to isolate which line is losing water
  • ✓ Thermal imaging to spot temperature anomalies
  • ✓ Meter monitoring to confirm an active leak exists
  • ✓ Camera inspection for drain-side leaks
  • ✓ Systematic isolation to narrow the location before cutting

Then the repair

  • + Targeted access opening at the located point
  • + Pipe section repair or replacement
  • + Rerouting a line where slab repair isn't practical
  • + Drywall patching and finish restoration quoted separately
!

About slab leaks specifically

A leak under a concrete slab has two realistic paths: break through the slab at the located point and repair it, or reroute that line overhead and abandon the section in the slab. Which is better depends on the leak's position, how many lines are affected, and the age of the plumbing. We'll lay out both options with costs rather than defaulting to the one that bills more.

How pricing works

Detection is quoted separately from repair, because until we've found it, nobody can honestly price the fix. Once located, you get a flat-rate repair quote and a clear explanation of what's involved before we open anything.

Signs of a hidden leak

01

Water Bill Climbed, Habits Didn't

The most reliable early indicator of a leak running continuously somewhere.

02

Warm Spot on the Floor

A classic slab leak sign when the leaking line is on the hot water side.

03

Sound of Running Water

Water audible when every fixture is off means something is flowing that shouldn't be.

04

Staining or Musty Smell

Discoloured drywall or persistent damp odour points to water where it shouldn't be.

Questions About This Service

Leak Detection & Repair FAQs

Acoustic equipment, pressure isolation, and thermal imaging narrow the location down before anything gets opened. The goal is one targeted access point rather than exploratory demolition.

Turn off every fixture and watch your water meter. If it's still moving, water is going somewhere. That's the simplest at-home confirmation before calling anyone.

We make the access opening and complete the plumbing repair. Finish restoration like drywall patching and paint is quoted separately, and we'll be upfront about that in the estimate.

Not usually in the same-night sense, but it shouldn't wait. Continuous water under a slab can undermine the foundation and drive up your bill significantly over weeks.
